Whether you are young or old, active in the community or at home, there are things that you can do to help prevent abortions.

Ways an Invidual Can Help

  • Pray our most powerful weapon. Pray for women who being coerced or tempted to abort, for healing for women and men wounded by abortion, and conversion for those who perform or promote abortion.
  • Be ready to refer your friends to the Option Line and nearby pregnancy centers if they need help
  • Learn more about pro-life issues such as post-abortion trauma, abortion pill reversal, and others.  (See our Basic Information section and searchable database.)
  • Learn how to have effective conversations to help pro-choice friends become pro-life.  Then look for opportunities.
  • Bring up abortion in discussions in Bible studies or Sunday school classes.
  • Participate in Life Chain or 40 Days for Life to witness to the community and/or to staff and visitors of abortion facilities.
  • Invite a pro-life speaker to come and speak to a church group or a civic organization like Rotary or Lions Club.
  • Volunteer at a pregnancy center.  These centers provide training for client advocates, and also need help with fundraisers, simple repairs, babysitting, and other tasks.
  • Support your local pregnancy center and other pro-life organizations with donations to enable them to carry out their mission.
  • Talk to people at your church to find out who else is pro-life.  Consider starting a Respect Life church ministry.   See Information for Pastors page for more details.

How to learn:

Learn about the resources available for women tempted to abort, or needing healing from abortion.  Also spread the word about Abortion Pill Reversal and the healthier alternative to hormonal contraception.

Find responses to pro-choice comments (and much more) at ERI Index – Equal Rights Institute

Live Action has a variety of good information, with lots of videos, and After Abortion is the source to go to for information about post-abortion problems and coerced or forced abortion.

There is a lot to learn, and it takes time. Learn a little at a time with the Wednesday Word weekly email.

Don’t expect a friend to become pro-life after one conversation.  Give him something to think about and talk again another time.
